Symptoms

An Oracle Linux node that was part of a cluster using ocfs2 for its cluster filesystem was unable to mount an ocfs2 filesystem, with the following error being logged when attempting to perform the mount:

mount.ocfs2: Heartbeat mode is invalid while trying to join the group
