Oracle Linux: Cups Print Jobs Connections Stuck in CLOSE_WAIT on Client After Print Jobs Sent (Doc ID 2656246.1)

Last updated on MAY 07, 2021

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

When print jobs are sent, the TCP connections on the client are not getting closed upon completion of the print jobs. As such, the open connections build up with each print job, until the MaxClients value is reached, at which point no further connections can be established, and no new prints can be passed to the CUPS server.

On the client, all the connections related to the print jobs are stuck in CLOSE_WAIT status as below
