Oracle Linux/Exadata: High rds-ping latency and poor CPU performance due to clocksource change from tsc to hpet (Doc ID 2661995.1)

Symptoms

Symptoms are:

- poor DB performance

- high rds-ping latency from compute node to cell node

- high CPU usage

Changes

 Clocksource was changed from default of "tsc" to "hpet". To check the Clocksource, view the contents of the current_clocksource as shown :
