Oracle Linux: Not Able to Access the Server When Third Default Gateway Route Added "Multiple Subnets" "Multiple Default Gateways" "Metric" (Doc ID 2688266.1)

Last updated on JULY 10, 2020

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.0 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [3.8.13] and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

There are IPs assigned from 3 different subnets. Each subnet has its own default gateway and a default route for each subnet is required.

In the Third interface network configuration file(ifcfg-team0 in this case), GATEWAY parameter is specified with its own gateway server IP as mentioned below.

After the third interface has brought up, connections to the server are getting disconnected and will not be able to ssh to the server.
