[PCA] Install Java8 Critical Patch Update on Management Nodes (Doc ID 2692262.1)

Last updated on MARCH 12, 2021

Applies to:

Private Cloud Appliance - Version 2.2.1 and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

This procedure describes how to update /usr/bin/java to the latest version of java 8 release at https://java.com/en/download/faq/release_dates.xml.

The /usr/bin/java is used by xms service (which provides Xsigo services) that only runs on master management node. On slave MN, we delete the old jre1.8 rpm first and install the latest rpm.

Once completed, we reboot the master MN to switchover master role. Then repeat the same procedure on new slave MN.
