Symptoms

Segmentation fault is seen with many commands including rpm and yum commands on the server, after the server update was unsuccessful.

# sosreport
Could not obtain installed package list

# rpm -qa
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

# service snmpd start
Starting snmpd: /bin/bash: line 1: 13142 Segmentation fault (core dumped) /usr/sbin/snmpd -LS0-6d -Lf /dev/null -p /var/run/snmpd.pid
  [FAILED]

# yum list all
Traceback (most recent call last):
