Unable to add new disks in "ASM Disk Group" (Doc ID 2706707.1)

Symptoms

Unable to add the new disks into "ASM Disk Group". The disk sector size differs between the existing and new disks.

Old (existing) disk configurations:
Disk /dev/xvdh: 537.0 GB, 536952700928 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 65280 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Disk identifier: 0xb7404305

New disk configurations:
Disk /dev/xvdk: 536.9 GB, 536870912000 bytes
214 heads, 31 sectors/track, 158060 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 6634 * 512 = 3396608 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x577d1401

Changes

 Added new disk to the server
