OLVM: How to Change IP/Hostname of Single KVM with Local Storage. (Doc ID 2712426.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 05, 2024

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.7 and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

When a host is added from OLVM, the IP or Hostname of the KVM host value will be stored in OLVM database and used for the security certificate. So changing IP or Hostname of the KVM needs to be re-registeration of the Host in OLVM. Standard procedure will be: shutdown/migrate all the VMs, remove the host from OLVM, change the IP or hostname, and re-register the host via OLVM. However, it is a little bit more complex in one single KVM host with local storage.
