Symptoms
Cannot login via ssh(1) after creating /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny files.
The steps followed to harden the system were taken from the "CIS Benchmarks for Oracle Linux 7 version 2.1.0"
Section "3.4.2 Ensure /etc/hosts.allow is configured (Scored)".
AND
Section "3.4.3 Ensure /etc/hosts.deny is configured (Scored)".
Changes
Multiple hardening tasks were completed including the addition of /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny.
