Oracle Linux: Local ULN Mirror Server Stopped Downloading Latest Packages. ULN YUM Mirror Log Shows Error "Old data directory exists, please remove: .olddata" (Doc ID 2727028.1)

Symptoms

Local ULN mirror server running Oracle Linux server 7 stopped downloading latest updates from ULN. 

The "yum check-update" on yum clients shows no updates and the YUM mirror server logs show below error:

Loaded plugins: langpacks, rhnplugin
This system is receiving updates from ULN.
Old data directory exists, please remove: .olddata
