Oracle Linux: Node crashes or hung with error: "xfs/filesystem errors: I/O Error Detected. Shutting down filesystem"

Symptoms
Server hangs or crashes with either kernel BUG at fs/xfs/xfs_icache.c:321! or xfs error "I/O Error Detected. Shutting down filesystem". Issue usually seen when there is high IO or while taking the backups.
The error "I/O Error Detected. Shutting down filesystem" is getting reported around the issue time. Running the filesystem check tool xfs_repair(8) manually does not detect a problem.
