Oracle Linux Server Shuts Down Unexpectedly then Fails to Boot with No Apparent Error (Doc ID 2757290.1)

Symptoms

An Oracle Linux (OL) server shuts down unexpectedly then subsequently fails to boot.
Repeated attempts to boot the system denote services/units initially start, however stop just after reaching target Local File Systems before the system is halted.
No obvious errors, service/unit failures are reported for either the unexpected shutdown or boot failure.


In this instance, the following boot-time system console messages boot time were observed on an OL7 system:

No seemingly relevant changes occurred before the unexpected system shutdown and subsequent failure to boot.
