Oracle Linux: Problem Activation of Drbd on UEK6 with Error "drbd00: Invalid argument" (Doc ID 2768665.1)

Symptoms

An Oracle Linux 7 system with UEKR6 Kernel fail to activate drbd with error:

drbdadm up drbd00
drbd00: Invalid argument
Command 'drbdsetup-84 new-resource drbd00' terminated with exit code 20
drbdadm: new-minor drbd00: skipped due to earlier error

The system was using:
Oracle Linux Server release 7
drbd-utils-9.0.0-1.0.1.el7_7.x86_64

The errors can also be seen in /var/log/messages:
