OCI - Unexpected Packet Drop at Host macvtap Device For PV Networking (Doc ID 2775410.1)

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.5 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [4.14.35] and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

KVM host side macvtap device shows the drops, and its a random behavior. There is no drops reported at the guest os network interface, but simply the packet will disappear.

Host Side macvtap will show the drops as below.

 

Changes

 Currently this issue seems only affected UEK5 Kernel.
