On a cluster environment, 1 node shows a different memory usage than the others, loosing free memory with no evident reason (Doc ID 2790970.1)

Last updated on JULY 14, 2021

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.4 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [4.1.12] to Oracle Linux 7.9 [Release OL7U4 to OL7U9]
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

In a 4 node cluster, 1 node is showing a different memory usage than the others.
The amount of free memory in this node is far less than in the others and it keeps loosing free memory.

All nodes has the same kernel version, same os, and same hardware specs. No third party modules were running.

Linux Version and Update:<Oracle Linux Server release 7.6>>
Kernel version:<<4.1.12-112.16.4.el7uek.x86_64>>
System Type: [bare metal] <>

When running an OSWatcher after rebooting the server, we can confirm the behavior with the
free memory, but there is no way to determine which is consuming that memory.
