OL8: Server Doesn't Boot with Newly Installed RHCK kernel (Doc ID 2809636.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 25, 2021

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 8.4 and later
Linux x86-64

Server doesn't come up with newly installed RHCK kernel. Grub menu also doesn't show new kernel entry during the boot. There is no UEK kernel installed in this case.

But the default boot entry shows as the new kernel version.

Old kernel in this case: kernel-4.18.0-147.el8.x86_64
