Oracle Linux - After Kernel Upgrade the System Still Boots with Old Kernel (Doc ID 2869183.1)

Symptoms

The system Kernel was updated but is still booting with the old Kernel.

Also, the new Kernel is not listed by GRUB during the boot.

/etc/grub2.cfg shows that the new Kernel is configured.

 

Changes

New Kernel installed.

The label of the /boot/efi filesystem has been updated in /etc/fstab
