Symptoms

After decommission of old OLVM host, restore OLVM to a fresh Oracle Linux installation failed with below error.


# engine-backup --mode=restore --scope=all --file=/path/to/backupfile --log=/path/to/restorelogfile --restore-permissions
Start of engine-backup with mode 'restore'
scope: all
archive file: /path/to/backupfile
log file: /path/to/restorelogfile
Preparing to restore:
- Unpacking file '/path/to/backupfile'
Restoring:
- Files
FATAL: Can't connect to database 'ovirt_engine_history'. Please see '/usr/bin/engine-backup --help'.
