OVM to OLVM migration, how about the Physical Disks? (Doc ID 2911566.1)

Last updated on APRIL 28, 2024

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.6 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [4.14.35] and later
Linux x86-64

Purpose

When migrating Virtual Disks of a VM from Oracle VM to Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager, basically the process is to achieve the goal of copying all the 0s and 1s of the Virtual Disk files from Storage Repository in Oracle VM to Storage Domain in Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager.
A Physical Disk - terminology used in Oracle VM referring to a LUN block device, often pass-through attached to a disk slot of a VM - is not associated with Virtual Disk file or Storage Repository, how to migrate Physical Disks of a VM then?
