Symptoms

An Oracle Linux 7 (or higher) system uses NetworkManager(8) for network interface management.
The network interface configuration file (/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-enp0s3) was manually configured with the ETHTOOL_OPTS="..." parameter.
Upon restarting network related services, then restarting the server, the ETHTOOL_OPTS values failed to take effect e.g.:

 

Changes

The ETHTOOLS_OPTS="..." parameter was recently added to network interface configuration file /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethp0s3.
