Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.6 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [4.14.35] and later Linux x86-64
Purpose
This document describes pros and cons, and considerations of using different options for backing up VMs.
A prevail ICT backup strategy known as 3-2-1 rule - three copies at least, two on different local media and third one on remote - is actually based on the principle of avoiding single point failure, two local copies on different media to tackle risk of hardware failure, and third copy to tackle risk of site failure.
This is also the backup strategy we would recommend on your OLVM infrastructure.
