OLVM 4.4: Deploy Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager via Local YUM Mirror (Doc ID 2932880.1)

Last updated on MARCH 12, 2023

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 8.5 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [5.4.17] and later
Linux x86-64

Purpose

For Data Center with limited Internet access or behind DMZ zone, if proxy is not preferred, Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager can be deployed via Local YUM Mirror.

Note:
Start from Oracle Linux 8 with the introduction of Application Stream Module in dnf, that multiple versions of same software set contained in same Repository, at the time of writing there is no fine grained control of dnf reposync plugin to selectively download certain module version only, the size of overall downloaded in Local YUM Mirror Host is significantly increased comparing with the pre-dnf-module-era of putting different versions of same software set into different Repositories.
