Symptoms

Oracle Oracle Linux 7 (OL7) system with two network interfaces is configured for active-passive (mode 1) network bonding.
Each network card is connected to separate network switches.
When the active member of the bond fails, partial or complete loss of network connectivity occurs despite the passive member becoming the new active member.
