Last updated on AUGUST 09, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Cloud Native Environment (OCNE) - Version 1.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This MOS Note provides detailed steps for installing istio, Grafana, Prometheus modules in Oracle Cloud Native Environment (OCNE).

By default with installation of Istio module, other 2 modules Grafana and Prometheus also gets installed in the same istio name space. There is no need to explicitly install Grafana and Prometheus modules in OCNE environment.

For OCNE versions 1.5 and earlier versions, as a pre-requisite before installing istio module, helm module has to be explicitly installed. For OCNE version 1.6 helm module is auto installed when Kubernetes module in installed. So there is no need to explicitly install helm module in order to install Istio module in OCNE 1.6 release.
