Purpose

Installing a Standalone oVirt engine and the KVM Host on the same physical server is not a supported configuration for OLVM.

There are 2 supported configurations for OLVM :

1. Standalone oVirt engine and KVM hosts installed on different physical Servers

2. Self Hosted Engine (SHE) installed on top of the KVM Host physical server as a Virtual Machine

This document outlines how to check if the customer is using an unsupported configuration where the oVirt engine and the KVM host are installed on the same physical server.
