(Doc ID 2967413.1)
Last updated on AUGUST 18, 2023
Applies to:
Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.9 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [5.4.17] and laterLinux x86-64
Symptoms
su_bmc can fail with "error while loading shared libraries: libBMCOS.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" even though the missing libraries do actually exist.
su_bmc is a 3rd-party software from BMC, but the principle of this document actually applies to any other 3rd-party software or libraries.
In terms of support coverage, Oracle Linux does not cover support for any 3rd-party software, but Oracle Linux does cover support for the runtime linker, ld.so or ld-linux.so.
Changes
Installed 3rd-party software and libraries.
