Symptoms

The kernel of an Oracle Linux 7 OL7 UEK6 system has been updated from version 5.4.17-2136.326.6.1.el7uek.x86_64 to 5.4.17-2136.329.3.1.el7uek.x86_64

When booting the newer kernel, the system fails to boot - a message, such as the following, is displayed to the system console:
