Symptoms

A System Administrator wishes to migrate a Virtual Machine guest from VMware to Oracle Linux KVM.
When using the virt-v2v utility to import the VMware guest image containing multiple virtual disks to the Oracle Linux 8 KVM host (standalone or Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) managed OL8 KVM host), disk copy of the first virtual disk completes quickly, however, disk copy of the second virtual disk is extremely slow (regardless of size) and eventually times out e.g.:
