Unexpected "df -i" Results On OCFS2 Filesystems (Doc ID 472640.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2018

Applies to:

Linux Kernel - Version: 1.2 to 1.2.7
Linux Itanium
Linux x86-64

The df(1) command provides the -i option to display i-node information.  For example:

$ df -i /dev/sda5
Filesystem          Inodes        IUsed     IFree    IUse%  Mounted on
/dev/sda5             1024          256       768      25%  /my_ocfs2

What do these numbers signify for an OCFS2 file system?
