After installing RHEL or EL 5.1, "hugepages" leaks memory.
-- Steps To Reproduce:
Implement hugepages as in <
Shutdown Oracle instance - not all hugepages are released:
- approximately 31 hugepages are "leaked" if init.ora parameter pre_page_sga=false
- all hugepages are "leaked" if init.ora parameter pre_page_sga=true
-- Business Impact:
Reboot is required to release the hugepages - disrupts other services runing on the system.
Re-starting an instance fails to acquire hugepages, SGA memory is allocated out of "normal" memory
leading to extreme performance issues.
