Purpose

This document describes how the automatic OracleVM Server selection done to start a Virtual Machine (guest).

Scope

This document is to be used by system administrators using OracleVM Server and Manager 2.1.1 and 2.1.2.

Although the "Preferred Server" attribute is set via OracleVM Manager interface, the functionality is implemented by the OracleVM Agents running on each OracleVM (physical) Server. So this document describes the method used in the agent. This feature is not available in OracleVM 2.1.
