Oracle Linux (OL) provides the package enterprise-release instead of the redhat-release package delivered by Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). (See also <Note 764403.1> Enterprise Linux 5 Update 3 x86 and x86_64 Release Notes).
The file names on the installation media are as follows:
- OL5 GA: Server/enterprise-release-5-0.0.4.i386.rpm
- OL5 Update 1: Server/enterprise-release-5-0.0.7.i386.rpm
- OL5 Update 2: Server/enterprise-release-5-0.0.9.i386.rpm

The /etc/enterprise-release file holds the OL release information. e.g. with OL5 Update 1:
If you have a script or application that checks the /etc/redhat-release on the system, make sure that it is revised to be able to handle the change described in this announcement. See <Note 207296.1> for the proper way to check release information in OL.
