 Configuring your IPMI/ILo environment.
 

At the bios (ctrl E) of the IPMI device, choose User Configuration,

Enter username/password and a static IP address/netmask or DHCP in the private Virtual Iron Network.

This is key; the connection must go to the private Virtual Iron Network

Once the IPMI device is configured, edit the generic_ipmi.xml file on the Management Server.

Windows: C:/Program Files\VirtualIron\VirtualizationManager\system

Linux: /opt.virtualiron/mgr/system/

Replace USERID and PASSW0RD with the account/password you entered in the bios.

 

There is a security override switch. You need to shutdown (Pull power cable till lights go out), set the override, restart, configure iLo :

Press F10 to access the System Bios, tab to Advanced, rom based, ILo and choose IPMI

Set the Lan settings with username/password and a static IP address/netmask or DHCP in the private Virtual Iron Network. This is key; the connection must go to the private Virtual Iron Network

You must enable BMC telnet servers

Once the IPMI device is configured, edit the ilo.xml file on the Management Server.

Linux: /opt.virtualiron/mgr/system/
