Why does Campus Solutions force CATALOG_NBR format to be 'nnnnxxxxxx'?
Last updated on FEBRUARY 28, 2018

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Why is the Catalog Number value formatted such that the system reserves the four left digits exclusively for numeric characters, and the right six digits for both alpha and numeric characters (nnnnxxxxxx)? A field edit enforces this programming, which prevents customers from saving catalog numbers that begin with zeros (Example: '00064' is saved as '64').
