E-AE: How Does Creation of Temporary Tables Work, when Multiple Application Engine Programs/Libraries Use the Same Temporary Tables (Doc ID 1054016.1)

Last updated on JULY 26, 2016

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.1 to 8.49 [Release 8.1 to 8.4]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Scenario;
In HCM 9.0 increase the Online Temp Tables on the  PeopleTools Option page from a default of 3 to 30. (Peopletools>Utilities>Administration>PeopleTools Options).
Keeping in mind, the Temp Table rebuild limitation of only 99 temp tables.

So for example,  the SSR_TSC_TMP Temporary Table would presumably be reaching the limit of 99 for the PS_AEINSTANCENBR table.

What would happen in a situation where all 30 Online Application Engine (AE) Programs are running, as well as Max Concurrent of 20 for Batch AE are running at the same time with the temp table all these programs share?

For instance, the potential quantity of Temp Table SSR_TSC_TMP, needed to run these AE Online;

Standard AE Program ; SSR_TSRQST 30 Online
Library AE Program:     SSR_TSC_LIB 30
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sub total 60 potentially needed for online use.

Standard AE Program  SSR_TSRPT  Instance Count of  20 for Batch (delivered)
Library AE Program:   SSR_TSC_LIB Instance Count of 20 for Batch (delivered)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total 100

The above Standard Application Engine Program and Library Program both use the SSR_TSC_TMP temporary table, and the concern is the maximum of 99 will be built, and this will not support the ability to run all of this concurrently.   Is this true?
