You are trying to read the date value from a csv file via file layout using ReadRowset() method. In order to verify the date value being read in correctly some extra code logic was added after the ReadRowset() call to check the isEditError property and see if an error occurred. According to solution below and PeopleBooks
949029.1 - E-FLO: How to check invalid formatted data when loading flat file via file layout?
This is working fine when the date in csv file was invalid format, e.g. 30/30/1900, but it did not work when a null/blank date value was provided. For example, if the csv file contained an empty/blank/null value for the date field, the isEditError property would still be set to true by the ReadRowset() function. As a result you would not be able to tell if the data file contained an invalid format date or a null date value.
