 SWAN stylesheet functionality is introduced in People Tools 8.50.  In Pre 9.1 and PT 8.50, this functionality is not  supported and it is termed as customization. For e.g: If User is on Application release 9.0 and Tools release 8.50 and want to use the SWAN stylesheets, it will be customization and won't be supported.

By default all 8.50 releases will have the original PSSTYLEDEF look (as it appeared in 8.49) and there will be nothing to change if you don't want the SWAN look and feel. However, if you do want to adapt to the new SWAN look and feel, you have to follow the steps below:

Application Developers:-If you have your own Stylesheet for SWAN make sure your stylesheet name should have the word "SWAN" in it for eg. ASWAN, SWANA, A_SWAN,SWAN_A,ASWANB where A and B can be any name you choose.

For SWAN look and Feel:
Please note that having an image or more open in the application designer and running the scripts will cause inconsistency and image corruption. The scripts actual rename the image objects in respective content formats and while renaming if we have edited an image and left it open in App Designer, the corresponding image becomes corrupt and causes a mismatch in the image formats in the database.

Stylesheet: PSSTYLEDEF_SWAN
Change the Stylesheet Name to PSSTYLEDEF_SWAN in the following places:
- PeopleTools->Utilities->Administration->PeopleTools Options
- PeopleTools->Portal->Portal Utilities->System options.
- PeopleTools->Portal->Portal Utilities->Registry options. Click the "Search" button and open the first registry. Enter <> in the Style Sheet Name field. Repeat for the other registries.

- Run the AE Program UPGPT850SWAN.

- Clear all appserver/webserver/browser cache.
- Restart the webserv and appserv.

Reverting to the old look and feel:
Please note that having an image or more open in the application designer and running the scripts will cause inconsistency and image corruption. The scripts actual rename the image objects in respective content formats and while renaming if we have edited an image and left it open in App Designer, the corresponding image becomes corrupt and causes a mismatch in the image formats in the database.

Stylesheet: PSSTYLEDEF
Change the Stylesheet Name to PSSTYLEDEF in the following places:
- PeopleTools->Utilities->Administration->PeopleTools Options
- PeopleTools->Portal->Portal Utilities->System options.
- PeopleTools->Portal->Portal Utilities->Registry options. Click the "Search" button and open the first registry. Enter <> in the Style Sheet Name field. Repeat for the other registries.

- Run the AE Program UPGPT850SWAN.
 To run UPGPT850SWAN in PIA, please take the following steps:

1. In PIA, navigate to "PeopleTools -> Process Scheduler -> Processes"
2. Click on "Add a New Value" tab and enter the following:

Process Type: Application Engine
Process Name: UPGPT850SWAN

* If UPGPT850SWAN already exists, please jump straight to step 5.

3. In "Process Definition" tab, enter the following:
Process Category: Default

4. In "Process Definition Options" tab, enter the following:

Component: PRCSMULTI
Process Groups: TLSALL

Hit Save.

5. In PIA, navigate to "PeopleTools -> Process Scheduler -> System Process Requests"

6. Add new run control
7. Click on "Run" button
8. Check UPGPT850SWAN and click OK.

- Clear all appserver/webserver/browser cache.
- Restart the webserv and appserv.

Running the AE program:
The AE program can be run multiple ways - thru command line, thru PIA or thru a process scheduler. The easiest way is to run via the command line. The syntax would be something like -

\BIN\CLIENT\winx86u>psae -CT -CD -CO -CP -R -AI UPGPT850SWAN -DEBUG N -DR Y -TRACE 3 -DBFLAGS 1 -TOOLSTRACESQL 0 -TOOLSTRACEPC 0

Note - Setting the environment variable PS_SERVER_CFG maybe necessary before running the AE program.

cmd > set PS_SERVER_CFG=C:\Documents and Settings\\psft\pt\\appserv\prcs\\psprcs.cfg

Please refer to the section on Application Engine in peoplebooks for more information.

h6. Please note that it may be necessary to run the AE program again after translations is loaded if you have changed the look and feel.

AE Program effects:
1) The AE program UPGT850SWAN should be run only once per database and not once per upgrade, if it is the same DB.
2) The AE program UPGT850SWAN needs to be picked up as a one-time upgrade script for the combination of upgrade to PeopleTools 8.50-Apps9.1 only.
3) The AE should not be run using any upgrade program for any combination of PeopleTools 8.50-Apps9.0 or below, but should exist in the 8.50 Tools DB as optional.

V - Known Issues:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No known sql errors while running the AE program, unlike the dms scripts.
