Last updated on NOVEMBER 15, 2019
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.49 to 8.51 [Release 8.4]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
After a PeopleTools upgrade, customers are seeing that PSAPPSRV or PSAESRV process is consuming large amounts of memory as compared to the PeopleTools release prior to the upgrade. For instance a PSAPPSRV or PSAESRV process might use over 1.5gb. Most of this usage will show in virtual memory as opposed to real memory.
For example, issue reported in this instance was with regards to PeopleTools 8.49, upgraded from 8.48. Also, newer PeopleTools versions are using 64 bit Java which takes more memory to run than previous versions.
PeopleTools 8.49 runs with JRE 1.5.xx and 8.48 uses JRE 1.4.xx.
