Last updated on AUGUST 02, 2016

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.51 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

WebLogic Server Generic installer can be used to install both 32 bit and 64 bit WebLogic Server installation.

The installer depends on whether the JDK is 32 bit or 64 bit to decide if it wants the installed WebLogic Server to be 32 or 64 bit. In PeopleTools 8.51, we support only 64 bit WebLogic Server (10.3.3).You need to install vendor and platform specific 64 bit JDK prior to launching the WebLogic Sever generic installer.

Please follow the steps in the PeopleTools 8.51 Installation Guide.

The error "This version of PeopleSoft PeopleTools requires a 64 bit Oracle WebLogic installation" is because 32 bit JRockit JDK is being used instead of required 64 bit JRockit, which should be used.
You can install WebLogic with 32 bit Java on a 32 bit Windows machine, but we do not support this setup.

Some customers like to install on their personal machines which will work, but we provide no support for this setup.

Here is an example of the warning you will get when installing WebLogic with 32 bit JRockit:
