The purpose of this document is to provide answers to common questions regarding the calculation of Standard Hours and Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) in Peoplesoft HRMS.

Questions and Answers
 1.  FTE field rounds to 2 decimal places, which is causing the FTE value to be inaccurate. How can we change the FTE Decimal Precision?
 
 2.  When a user hires an employee in Job Data, after entering the Job Code, the Standard Hours are NOT defaulting from this Job Code, but coming instead from the Salary Plan.
 3.  Why does FTE contain a value of 0 when an employee is initially hired, and change to 1.0 when a new row is inserted into the Job record?
 
 4.  Why are the changes to FTE  on Position Data not copied to the Job Data of the incumbents, when "Update Incumbents" process is selected?
 5.  Is possible to enter an employee with Standard Hours of zero on the Job record for US employees? Will this feature be available to US employees in the future?
