Goal

How "External User ID" is used in PeopleTools 8.48+ with inbound service operations, as Integration Broker PeopleBook in certain sections seems to suggest that it is used there, even though in other sections it says that it is only used with outbound?

In particular, when the Integration Broker PeopleBook speaks of inbound service operation's user authentication, it refers, along with "External Name" and "Default User ID", a setting named "External User ID", apparently meaning the value that can be optionally set up in a Node Definition, and overridden in a Service Operation Routing. Also, the inbound service operations flow diagrams show "External User ID" though the related text does not mention it.
If the above referred information is accurate, how "External User ID" usage compares to that of "Default User ID"?

Otherwise, if in the context of in the inbound service operations it is referring not to the node and routing related value but to something else, what exactly is meant by it, and why exactly the same term is used in both cases?
