E-PRCS: ORA-28002 - The Password Will Expire In N Days, Cannot Logon To The Database (Doc ID 1282214.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.
This error affects any portion of the application that has a need to access the database. For example, the Process Scheduler, Application Server, 2 and 3 tier client connections to AppDesigner, nVision etc.


Environment Info
Oracle 11g

When any process is run to the Scheduler, it fails with the message: "ORA-28002 The password will expire within 7 days.  Cannot logon to the database."

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to PeopleTools - Process Scheduler - System Process Requests.
2. Choose any run control id and submit it to the Scheduler.
3. Observe the process errors out with the above error message.

Similarly, any portion of the application that needs to login to the database will face a similar error.  For example, starting the Process Scheduler or Application Server or logging into the client workstation to use AppDesigner or nVision.


The database had been upgraded to 11g roughly 6 months prior.
