Symptoms

ISSUE:

ViewAttachment does not work when accessed through Direct link from Enterprise Portal to content.

TEST CASE:

1> User logs into Portal, access the View Paycheck content reference from the Portal navigation (pointing to content component) using direct link and select Paycheck link. User gets "File Not Found error" in a new window. If user then accesses HCM from the Portal navigation to accesses view Paycheck content reference and clicks on a Paycheck link, the user still receives a File Not Found error in a new window.

The scenario that works is when user logs into Portal, access HCM Home page from the Portal navigation (pointing to Home tab) using indirect link to view Paycheck content reference from the HCM navigation folder to view Paycheck link. The user is able to view their Paycheck in a pdf format in a new window.

The issue is with direct link from portal using Single sign on to component of content reference which has link to open a file using view attachment, while non-direct link pointing to home tab of content and then navigate to content folder to access same component and link works fine.

Customers can confirm the problem by looking at their web server log files.
look for following log lines :

2> Problem also occurs for self-service sites that use the content mode (psc servlet) directly? to access the content.
