On :  9.1 version, the large journal (with 209K lines) created from allocation took 8.5 hours to complete journal edit.

From AE trace file provided, the majority time is spent on step  GL_JIUNIT.EA000.Step09.

- 9.1 MP5 with Bundle FCM  9.1 Bundle #10 applied.
- PeopleTools 8.51.09.
- Oracle database 11g

- the same slow performance is observed when the journal edit is requested by allocation step or when it is requested in a separate journal edit batch process.
- most time is spent on step  GL_JIUNIT.EA000.Step09 ( 8452.4 out of 9346.7 seconds) as shown in AE trace.
- the process, which generated the above AE trace, was eventually killed.
- by comparison, journal with 32K lines takes 11 min to complete journal edit.

- The site had journal edit on similar sized journal completed in 1.5 hours on 8.8 hence they expect the same performance on 9.1.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run Allocation with one step only to create a journal with large volume of lines (209K)
2. Journal edit is either invoked by allocation process or in a separate batch.
3. it takes 8 hours to complete the journal edit.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, the journal edit process cannot be completed in the expected timeframe. This has major impact on month end closing.
