Copied Project Document Attachment Deletion (Doc ID 1351341.1)

Last updated on JULY 21, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Project Costing - Version 9 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When the user copies the Project A to Project B, corresponding attachment references
(paths) are also copied to Project B. It is like having two pointers to same Document 'DOC1'.
So when the user deletes Doc1 from Project B, it will not only delete this reference but also deletes the physical document from server.

This leaves Project A with document reference to 'DOC1' but leading to nowhere. As a result, DOC1 can neither be opened from Project A nor that entry can be deleted. This is replicable vice versa too.
Issue is replicated on FIN 8.9, 9.0, 9.1 & 9.2.

Replication Steps:
1- Add an attachment to Project A (Project Costing > Project Definitions > General Information, Attachments)
2- Create/copy a project B from Project A
3- the Attachment will be copied too to project B
4- Delete the attachment from Project B
5- This will delete the Document from the server and user will not be able to view the attachment in Project A.

Bad Behaviour:

The Attachment is reflected in Project A but the URL is dead, as the file is deleted from the server.
