Symptoms

The PUBSUB services stop processing messages and the APPSRV_MMDD.log or trace log report ORA-03135 or ORA-03114 errors for PUBSUB Services.  The messages resemble the following in the Application Server log file found in the logs directory of the Application Server domain:

APPSRV_XXXX.LOG(1180): PSPUBHND_dflt.60499286 (1) [xx/xx/xx 07:00:15 PubConProcessPubConProcess](1) GenMessageBox(200, 0, M): /opt /peopletools/src/psmgr/mgrvers.cpp: SQL error. Stmt #: 865 Error Position: 0 Return: 3135 - ORA-03135: connection lost contact
