E-WF: 'SMTP sendMail failed' Pop Up Error After HCM 9.1 Change To Disable the "Allow DB Update" in Workflow Configuration (Doc ID 1391111.1)

In HCM 9.1 environment  Transactions like "Name Change" and "Address Change", result in a pop up error, after the "Allow DB Update" box on HCM Workflow Configurations has been deselected to disable.

Page Errors when using Name Change:

SMTP sendMail failed (server Cannot send email to (80,2)

An error occurred during the SMTP session. Verify that the SMTPSender is a valid e-mail address (e.g. <>). In addition, verify that the recipients of the e-mail have valid e-mail addresses.


Error when attempting to trigger Business Process / Event: HR_SS_WORK_EVENTS / EE_NAME_CHANGE (67,2)

There is a problem in calling TriggerBusinessEvent for the indicated Business Process/Event.

Review the program for errors. If necessary, run a PeopleCode trace to determine the program that failed.

The PeopleCode TriggerBusinessEvent built-in function was used by the specified PeopleCode program and failed to execute correctly on the client workstation.

SMTP Log Entries Success and Failure, sending to same emailid;

[2011-12-30 09.34.23] Mail from to with subject Saved - Address Change - Firstname Lastname - Your request was saved was successful.
[2011-12-30 10.46.07] Mail from to with subject Invitation - Name Change - Firstname Lastname - A request requires processing was not successful.
