E-WL: OutOfMemory Errors caused by Excessive User Session Data (Doc ID 1393443.1)

Symptoms

The web server intermittently runs out of memory. A "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError" is logged to PIA_weblogic.log.  Example:


The issue occurs when there is a large number of sessions on the PIA (which can be observed by viewing sessions from WebLogic console as described in document 661808.1).  There are no other signs of problems on the web server, such as stuck threads.
