EGL8.4+ GLPPPOST: Reversals Are Automatically Posting Even Though We Do Not Have Automatic Post Reversals Selected. (Doc ID 1402915.1)

Goal

The purpose of this document is to explain what to expect when processing the following scenarios:

Scenario I

  1.  On General Ledger Business Unit Definition - Journal Options page, set the Business Unit Process Date = July 1st, 2011( Which is equal to or before today's date)
  2.  Uncheck the Automatic Post Reversals box
  3.  Enter a Manual Journal with a Journal Date of June 1st, 2011 which reverses on June 30th, 2011
  4.  Edit Journal - journal gets marked Valid
  5.  Batch Post the  Journal using a range of June 1, 2011 through July 1, 2011
  6.  Results:  The base journal and the reversal are both posted even though we chose the option not to Automatically Post Reversals.


Scenario II

  1.  On General Ledger Business Unit Definition - Journal Options page, leave the Business Unit Process Date blank
  2.  Uncheck the Do Not Post Future-Dated Jrnls and Automatic Post Reversals boxes on the Ledgers for a Unit - Journal Post Options page
  3.  Enter a Manual Journal with a journal date of June 30, 2014, with a reversal date of July 1, 2014
  4.  Edit Journal - journal gets marked Valid
  5.  Batch Post the Journal entering the journal id ONLY
  6.  Results:  The base journal and the reversal are both posted even though we chose the option not to Automatically Post Reversals.
