E-COB: Error Message : ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied (Doc ID 1406827.1)

Symptoms

Applies to ALL PeopleTools 8.49 and higher releases

Scenario 1:


Sample Environment:

Tools 8.51
Student Admin version 9

Issue:
--------
The site is running a test environment where they have cloned the delivered Cobol process type.
A Cobol program, which is not customized, is associated with this process type, and when attempting to run the process, the process runs to error and the process log shows the following.

Will use connect ID to retrieve OPR PSWD
Connect ID password required.

Application Program Failed
Action Type     : SQL CONNEC
In Pgm Section  : SQLRT:GG100 SQL-CONNECT                            
With Return Code: 01005
Error Message   : ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied


Application Program Failed
In Pgm Section  : BB100-CONNECT-DB (CONNECT)                          
With Return Code: 01005
Error Message   : ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied

Error W/ Group Posting program on 2012-02-01 at 12.46.43.290000 !!!!!

 

Scenario 2:

PT 8.54.12Campus 9.0 Application

Cobol test process runs to success via the scheduler,  but the remote call test fails with the following error.

Remote program PTPNTEST failed with return code: 1005 .Reason: ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied. In section: SQLRT:GG100 SQL-CONNECTBA000-DATABASE CONNECT (2,-1) FUNCLIB_UTIL.RC_TEST_PB.FieldChange PCPC:2151 Statement:26
